A New PMR Lifting Jib at the Port of Marines in Cogolin

Last week, the Port des Marines in Cogolin was delighted to welcome the OceanoScientific association for an awareness-raising day with primary schools in Cogolin.

A local commitment to a #CleanPort

This collaboration is part of our Port Propre initiative. Raising awareness among the younger generation is a priority, as they are the future ambassadors of our seas and coasts. Thanks to OceanoScientific’s involvement, schoolchildren were able to learn about the importance of protecting the ocean and its biodiversity in a fun and educational way.

OceanoScientific: Science in the service of the sea

OceanoScientific is an association that works to protect the oceans by conducting scientific sailing expeditions.

Their approach:

Zero CO2 emissions: Their expeditions use sail power to collect crucial scientific data, minimizing environmental impact.

Cutting-edge research: The association collects data on contaminants and marine environmental DNA (eDNA) in the Mediterranean, contributing to a better understanding of underwater life and the threats it faces.

Education: The association raises awareness and educates the public, especially young people, about the urgent need to respect the ocean.

OceanoScientific shared this expertise and passion with our young residents of Cogolin. Presentations helped the children learn about species and everyday actions that make a difference.

This event, rich in sharing and discovery, highlights our collective responsibility towards our marine heritage.

Together, let’s ensure that our waters remain as beautiful and preserved as possible.
